Patchwork Pie has moved back to Blogger for the time being. No one is sorrier for this confusion than me!
Thanks for sticking with me through my online ups & downs!
Now, back to talking QUILTS!

QuiltFest started off as a local show 25 years ago, and has grown to a regional event with 434 quilts in the competition!
I won't even try to guess how many quilts were actually there, with the guild booths, community service booth, special exibits and vendors.
One of my former students won an Honorable Mention, which is a real thrill...even though I did not teach her the bargello technique:
I was amazed and happikly surprised to receive a Judge's Recognition award for the large version of my latest pattern, "Sunshine Scrap Baskets":
The baskets are 3-D and can hold a variety of items. In this case, I had a tatted hankie, a red comb, red reading glasses and (most popular) a Kit Kat bar!

We're in the last stages of Quilt Show preparations! QUILTFEST opens up on Thursday Sept. 20!
There are 434 quilts in the show. More than 100 were sent in by mail from around the country, and the rest were personally delivered to the Take-In stations located around Jacksonville (and one in St. Augustine). One location was hosted by my guild, and we had a fine time getting a sneak preview of 84 quilts!
Each quilt is measured and checked to be sure it is in the correct category.
A quilt will do best at the judging when it's in the right category (type & size). When in doubt, we tend to go with what the ownwer wants...but it pays to really read the entry rules!
We also have a sticky lint roller to catch threads and pet hair...

Patchwork Pie has left Blogger/ Blogspot and moved here to my website!
Welcome to my followers who have made the jump, and to all new readers....I did it for you!
There were going to be some problems with Blogger having pictures, and as Cherry-cherry says, without pics a blog is not worth reading. So I just decided to start over here.
The old posts will still be up on Blogger...I can tweak it occaisionally and keep it "live". But all the new stuff will be here at Sunnie Quilts.
And now, for those who enjoy a cat on a quilt...it's Shayla O'Puss!
Lots of QuiltFest news coming up with the show opening on Thursday!
I'll even share why the beautiful quilt above did NOT get into the show...and what did!
